Toni Collier joins me for Episode 72. Not only is she a wife and mother, she is also a dynamic, ambitious, accomplished young woman who went from the corporate world to the ministry world. And we have a conversation about racial reconciliation. We talk about why diversity is important, what is the key to moving forward in this arena and what women uniquely bring to the table.

I am thankful that I have friends who welcome the awkwardness into the room so that we can have an honest conversation about something that feels a little touchy.

One takeaway that I had from our conversation was what she said about multiculturalism. "Multiculturalism is the way forward. In order for us to live out our greatest capacity and get to experience everything the world has to offer we have to get outside of our four walls." We have to work hard to get outside of our own bubble and experience the world. And I loved that her suggestions were easy and doable. All of us can take a step in that direction and you step may look different from my step. Maybe for you its reading a book on black history. Maybe for you its googling something about racial reconciliation. Maybe for you its inviting someone over for coffee or a kids playdate who is different from you. We can all start somewhere.

Sherri Dickens joins me for Episode 71. She is the blogger behind Rage Against the Mom Jean. She was a tomboy as a child who grew up to love fashion. I loved hearing about how she got to be where she is today. And I discovered that she grew up in the foster care system and because of that a deep need to care and help others was birthed in her.

We also talk about how to dress for every stage of life, how to model love for yourself in front of your kids and some very practical tips when it comes to fashion.

I always enjoy these chats that land on some practical advice about fashion. If you follow me in Instagram, then you know that I am all about trying to inspire and encourage you to love the creative side of getting dressed. In fact, if you want to follow along, I would love for you to post a picture of what you're wearing and use #SurvivingStyle Let's be a tribe of women who encourage each other in an area where most of us feel insecure.

Brittany Price joins me for Episode 70 This is one gorgeous girl both inside and out. Jesus just exudes out of her. We talk about surviving the death of her husband--how she found herself as a widow at age 25 with 3 boys under the age of 3. We talk about surrender and how to trust as you walk through the darkness.

I was so inspired and encouraged by her. God doesn't always call us to walk through the rose garden. Sometimes He leads us through the darkness. There are some things that we can't choose, but we can choose our response. We can choose how we see the circumstances around us. I will tell you that, I was challenged by that with some difficult circumstances surrounding me. And I want to kick and scream. And its okay to kick and scream, but when God tugs at your heart & asks you to obey even though its not comfortable or easy, the best response is surrender.

Amanda White joins me for Episode 69. She is a wife, mom and former children’s pastor who is using her skills of a creative thinker in the lives of her own kids and yours. She is really great at unpacking scripture to little hearts. She is the author of The Truth In The Tinsel and A Sense of the Resurrection. She is a firm believer that no matter who you are, you don’t have to be afraid or intimidated to teach your kids Scripture. I invited her to be on the show to talk about how to anchor your kids heart to Jesus this Easter.

Amanda is offering a coupon code for all Surviving Sarah listeners to receive 20% off the purchase of her ebook A Sense of the Resurrection.
