Leslie Klipsch joins me for Episode 68. She is a mom on a mission to help awaken the mama bear inside each one of us. It doesn't take long to realize that Leslie wants to make an impact not only in her community but also in the world around her.

We talk about being front yard people, how to push past perfectionism, how to find community and how your tribe can be a group for good.

Kay Warren joins me for Episode 67. If you don't know her already, she is the co-founder of Saddleback Church, a pastor's wife and an advocate for people living with mental illness, HIV&AIDS and for orphaned and vulnerable children. You quickly can tell that she wants to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

I wanted to chat with her about surviving the death of her son and also surviving as a pastor's wife. We talk about signs of mental illness in your kids, what its like being a parent of a child who suffers, practical ways the church can do to change the conversation about mental illness and suicide and her advice that every pastor's wife needs to know.

This was one of the easiest conversations to have and listen to even though the topic is not an easy topic. And I think that says something about Kay's nature. I am truly thankful for the role that she and her husband played in my life and ministry. And it was an honor to have her on the show.

Ted Lowe joins me for Episode 66. Surviving Sarah male guest #2. I’ve known Ted and his wife Nancie for so many years so when I decided it was time to do another episode about marriage, I knew that he would be perfect for the show. We talk about some common myths of what make a marriage work and then some core habits that we can develop to get marriages into a healthy rhythm.

I hope you enjoyed my conversation with Ted. He is so easy to talk to and I hope you felt like what we talked about was doable. I think the biggest takeaway for me was the first core habit of having serious fun. I think its easy to let fun go to the bottom of the todem pole. Think about what you enjoy doing with your spouse? Think back to when you were first together. What did you enjoy doing together? What did you enjoy about each other? Sometimes, you just have to work a little harder to create those fun moments. I loved the statement that he suggested we tell our spouse: The thing about you that makes me say “wow” is ____.

Jordan Baker Watts joins me for Episode 65. She is a jack of all trades when it comes to ministry. She’s a musician, vocalist, worship leader, writer, author, podcast, speaker but at the center of it all, she has a heart about encouraging the hearts of moms. We talk highly important things like locking our kids outside, how raising kids has turned us into middle schoolers, and how bodysuits do not need to come back into fashion.

And as we solved so many of life’s problems, we also talked about some amazing things like how to find the hilarity in motherhood, what to do if you struggle with depression, and how to live the abundant life that God has placed before you.
