Joy Phenix joins me for Episode 25. She is a wife to Billy for almost 19 years, has two kids and a dog. She spent 27 years working for A&E Networks before starting her own production company. We talked about the insanity of summer, raising tweens and the blend of career and motherhood. You are going to absolutely love our conversation.
Tracy Levinson joins me for episode 24. Friend of the show, Courtney DeFeo, introduced me to Tracy and insisted that I read her book. And boy, was she right! I am so glad she insisted. Tracy is an empty nestor who has been pouring into young women's lives for years. She is a girl from TX who moved to LA to pursue acting only to discover new life in Jesus years later after her kids were born.
We talk about how she became a Christian and why she would write a book on sexuality. If you have little ears listening as you drive, you may want to pause our conversation and pick it back up when they aren't around. She gives advice to moms of tweens and young women, advice to single women and even advice to married women in regards to sexuality.
The nature of this subject can drum up different emotions and different opinions. Two friends can see things differently. Two churches can see things differently. Some things can have a black and white response and some things are more gray. But I want this to be a safe place to talk about complicated matters.
Okay, so are you ready? Let's cue Salt N Pepa because we are gonna talk about sex.
Sandra Stanley joins me for Episode 23. She is wife to Pastor Andy Stanley and they live here in the Atlanta area. They have 3 kids--one out of college and two in college. And once they crossed the finish line--the one all parents dream of and became empty nesters--God surprised with them. He led them to become foster parents.
I don't know about you, but as a woman I treasure any time that I get to sit at the feet of a woman who is down the road from me. I want to hear about all the things. And this episode is chocked full of great advice. Advice for foster parents, young moms, wives and all women young and old no matter what stage of life. We also talk about her book, The Comparison Trap, along with what it looks like to choose obedience, to live out the fruit of the spirit and to find your worth in something that doesn't change. Plus, you will absolutely love her survival kit.
Joni Lay from the blog Lay Baby Lay joins me for Episode 22. I bet if you go to your Pinterest boards, you will find images from her blog. Her images are all over my Inspiration boards.
She is married to Chip and is a mom of 3 young girls. I loved hearing her advice about how to create a joy-filled home. We talk about design, working while being a mom, and challenges in motherhood.
Emily Thomas joins me for Episode 21. She is a wife, mom of 2 kids, nurse and Podcaster. You may have heard her oniTunes with her show, Mom Struggling Well. She is so realand funny and I love that she is not afraid to be honestabout herself. I think that is what draws people to her.
I asked Emily to come on the show to tell her storybecause she has faced almost all the things that we as women fear. She has faced abuse, divorce, infertility and infidelityat different points in her life. And I wanted herto share with you to see that fear doesn't have to ruin youand God can use you no matter what you face
